As part of our evaluation process we will screen for a management team with a meaningful ownership position, a defensible position in a growing market, the level and stability of operating margins, the ability to generate positive cash flow and the strength of the balance sheet.
We invest in a variety of industries wherein we have direct experience or the ability to call on colleagues and consultants who have such experience. Our executive management and Board of Directors are seasoned business people with colleagues in a variety of industries whom we may call upon on a case-by-case basis. Industries in which we invest include: Consumer Products, Business Services, Healthcare Services, Medical devices, Nanotechnology and others. We may invest in equity, equity-related securities, a combination of debt and equity instruments as well as other beneficial ownership interest. These interests may include warrants, options, and convertible or exchangeable securities.
In connection with our investments we will, from time to time, provide management recruiting services, assist with the strategic planning process and provide managerial assistance on issues such as personnel, real estate, marketing, capital expenditures and other related matters. We may provide guidance for financial and tax reporting services for our portfolio companies as well as cash management, treasury, auditing and other business services.
